Barb Elder doesn’t consider herself a health care hero. She’s a volunteer in the gift shop at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, something she’s done for 25 years. And each year, the proceeds from the gift shop generate $20,000 in scholarships to hospital employees who are enrolled in school to further their education in their field.
